In July 2025, our team was commissioned by Ameresco to install a custom netting solution at their solar energy site in Irvine. The project formed part of a wider renewable infrastructure initiative, requiring secure and environmentally sensitive perimeter protection.
Objectives
- Provide a non-intrusive barrier that complements the natural landscape
- Designed and constructed to a sufficient height to mitigate golf balls from reaching the solar panels.
- All design and installation methods are carried out in full compliance with applicable regulatory standards to ensure safety, quality, and adherence
Implementation
- Installed UV-resistant, high-tensile netting along designated perimeter zones
- Constructed reinforced concrete foundations with steel rebar and anchor bolts for tower support
- Coordinated with Ameresco’s engineering team to align netting layout with solar panel arrays and cabling
- Applied moisture-control sheeting and erosion mitigation techniques during groundwork
Outcome
- Netting installed on schedule with zero disruption to ongoing solar works
- All safety, environmental, and operational criteria met
- Post-installation inspection confirmed structural integrity and wildlife compliance
- Positive client feedback on attention to detail and proactive site coordination
